Prabowo Concerning Digitalization Of Teaching And Learning: Accelerate National Education Transformation

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said that learning digitization is part of efforts to accelerate the transformation of national education.

"This is our program, as our effort, our efforts to accelerate the transformation of our national education," Prabowo said in a speech at the launch of the use of interactive flat panels (IFP) or smartboards for schools in Indonesia at SMPN 4 Bekasi City, West Java, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

In his directives, the President emphasized the importance of awareness to recognize the challenges in providing education, as the basis for determining the necessary improvement steps.

The President also underlined the role of education as the main element in the process of the nation's revival.

Prabowo assessed that the progress of a country depends on the ability of the community to master science and technology, including through an educational system that has developed since before independence.

The President said that education and mastery of science and technology is the foundation that determines the success and prosperity of a nation.

"We understand that education and technology, science, science are the key to success, is the key to prosperity. There is no prosperity if we cannot master science and technology," said Prabowo.

The Head of State stated that the achievement of the 2025 Learning Digitization Program target through the installation of smartboard devices or interactive flat panels (IFP) to schools throughout Indonesia exceeded the government's initial expectations.

"I think this program may take more than a year, but it turns out that since we announced it in May, which started flat in June, July, August, September, October, this November, 173,000 panels have been reported installed," he said.

The President also appreciated the performance of the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education for this achievement.

"I thank the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education and all its staff for successfully carrying out this program in an extraordinary way," he said.

President Prabowo at the program launch event also mentioned this acceleration as one of the largest and fastest in the world.

To date, the government has recorded that the process of sending smartboard devices or interactive flat panels (IFPs) has reached 215,572 units, with 172,550 devices arriving in schools, while 43,022 units are still on their way.

The government targets all devices to be distributed to recipient schools by December 2025 at the latest.
