Police In Sumut Set 4 Suspects Of Illegal COVID-19 Vaccine, From Property Agents To Gubsu Edy's Men

MEDAN - North Sumatra Police has assigned four suspects in an alleged bribery case in the implementation of illegal COVID-19 vaccination activities to several community groups in Medan.

Chief of Police Sumut Irjen RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak mentioned the four suspects were SW (40) medan polonia property agents (bribers), dr. IW (45) ASN / Doctor at Rutan Klas I Medan (recipient of bribes), KS (47) ASN / Doctor at the Health Office of Sumut (recipient of bribes) and SH is asn Kemenkum Ham Sumut.

The police chief explained that the incident occurred Tuesday (18/5) at 15.00 WIB, suspect SH as the organizer of carrying out vaccination activities that are not appropriate for the community in the housing complex Jati Residence Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, District Medan Perjuangan, Medan City.

The vaccination was carried out by two health workers as vaccinators, namely Chufransyah Hakim Simamora and Elidawati Sitanggang who are both health workers rutan Medan and followed by 50 people.

"The vaccinated participants paid a vaccine fee and injection services of Rp250,000 per person to SW in cash or transfer. Furthermore, the money was handed over to IW amounting to Rp220,000 per person. The remaining Rp30,000 becomes a fee for SW," he was quoted as saying by Antara, Friday, May 21.

The police chief said the vaccine that was sold was from Rutan Tanjung Gusta Medan which was intended for the target citizens, but was misused by being sold to unauthorized parties.

The total number of people vaccinated during 15 unsuitable vaccinations (April to May 2021) amounted to 1,085 people with a bribe value of Rp238,700,000 and a fee for bribers of Rp32,550,000.

"In the case of the bribes given the vaccine, examine nine witnesses," said the Police Chief.
