Kapolda: The Perpetrator Of The Burst Of SMAN 72 Jakarta Is Not Related To The Terrorist Network

JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri said that the alleged perpetrator of the explosion at SMAN 72 Jakarta was a child in conflict with the law (ABH) who had a closed personality.

"ABH is known as a closed person, rarely gets along, and is interested in violent content," said Inspector General to the media at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Jakarta, November 11.

The Kapolda explained, based on the results of the interim investigation, ABH acted independently and had no connection with any terrorism network.

"From the results of the investigation, the child is an active student at the school and acts alone, there is no indication of involvement in certain networks," he said.

So far, investigators have examined 16 witnesses, consisting of victims (two teachers and students), ABH, and ABH's family.

Inspector General Asep added that since the incident, Polda Metro Jaya together with Densus 88 and Puslabfor Polri immediately moved quickly to sterilize the location and secure a number of explosives.

"We have sterilized the school area and found three active homemade bombs at two different locations," he said.

In addition, a forensic laboratory team is examining the type and explosive power of the explosives used by ABH.

The search has also been carried out at the house of the alleged perpetrator to trace the origins of the materials and assembly tools.

The Metro Jaya Police Chief also said that his party, together with the Metro Jaya Police Bidokkes, had carried out medical treatment and trauma healing for students, teachers, and the families of the victims.

The victim service post was also established at the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital to provide further assistance.

The total number of victims due to the explosion was 96 people. A total of 68 people have been allowed to go home, while the other 28 are still being treated," he explained.

In detail, 13 people were treated at the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital, 1 person at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, and 14 people at the Yarsi Hospital.
