JAKARTA - Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, stated that her office is still gathering input from various elements of society regarding the Asset Confiscation Bill (RUU), which has been included in the 2025 National Legislation Program (Prolegnas).

"We are still receiving input from various parties, and this has been ongoing since the last session," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, November 6.

Puan emphasized that the DPR prioritizes the principle of meaningful participation, or meaningful public participation, in the deliberation process of each draft law.

"So, we will review meaningful participation first, because we don't want it to overlap with other laws," she said.

According to her, the DPR is continuing to open up space for participation and accept input from various parties to ensure that the resulting legal product does not conflict with other regulations.

"So, we continue to welcome input from various parties regarding this matter," Puan said.

As is known, the Asset Confiscation Bill related to Alleged Criminal Acts has officially been included in the 2025–2026 Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas), along with 51 other drafts and revisions to laws passed during the House of Representatives (DPR) Plenary Session at the DPR Building in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 23.

Meanwhile, Minister of Law and Human Rights Supratman Andi Agtas explained that the bill was initiated by the DPR, so the government is still awaiting parliamentary deliberations before preparing the Problem Inventory List (DIM).

"This Asset Confiscation Bill is a DPR proposal. So the government is waiting for the DPR to draft it and initiate it. Once the DPR has prepared the DIM, it will be ready for immediate deliberation," Supratman said on Wednesday, November 5.
