Kuningan Police Name 2 Suspects Of 364 Kg Fish Theft In Darma Reservoir

KUNINGAN - The Kuningan Resort Police (Polres), West Java, named two residents with the initials N (42) and DA (32) as suspects in the theft of fish in the Darma Reservoir cage area who had disturbed local pond owners.

"The two suspects were arrested after being reported by a resident, who suffered millions of rupiah losses due to losing fish from his cage," said Head of the Kuningan Police Satreskrim Iptu Abdul Aziz as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 4.

He said the determination of the suspects against the two men was carried out after investigators found strong evidence for the alleged theft they had committed repeatedly.

Abdul said the theft was revealed after the victim reported missing fish from his cage in the Darma Reservoir, Jagara Village, Kuningan on Thursday (30/10).

The police then conducted an investigation, then managed to identify two suspects who were known to be local residents.

From the results of the examination, he said, the suspects admitted to stealing about 364 kg of tilapia from the victim's cage.

The perpetrator used a canoe boat and a serok to take fish. The stolen goods were packaged in plastic and then resold, "he said.

He conveyed that in disclosing this case, the police secured a number of evidences in the form of a car, a canoe boat, a fish serok, a plastic drum, and 13 plastic fish wrappers.

"The two suspects are now charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with weight, with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison," he said.

The Kuningan Police appealed to cage owners around the Darma Reservoir to increase supervision of the pond area so that similar incidents do not happen again.
