JAKARTA - The government has prepared a budget of IDR 12 trillion for scholarship programs for training courses and improving language quality for high school and vocational high school graduates who will work abroad.
"God willing, Rp12 trillion will be prepared for training and improving the quality of the language of prospective workers working with overseas markets," said Coordinating Minister for Community Development Muhaimin Iskandar, aged in a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 4.
The man who is familiarly called Cak Imin explained that the scholarship for the course will be focused on improving language skills and work skills according to the needs of the international labor market.
The training includes welding (welder), elderly care (caregiver), and hospitality (hospitality).
Cak Imin said the scholarship program for this course is part of the government's efforts to expand job opportunities for high school graduates to have competitiveness at the global level.
"The government will increase scholarships for high school and vocational capacity courses that want to work abroad," he said.
Cak Imin added that this course scholarship program will start at the end of this year with an undetermined quota of participants.
"Students started later this year with a certain amount as much as possible and will start even bigger in January," he said.
Cak Imin said this program is different from the program for providing 500 thousand skilled workers to work abroad coordinated by the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Ministry (P2MI).
