JAKARTA - A total of 450 TNI soldiers from infantry battalion (Yonif) 144/Jaya Yudha Curup, Bengkulu, were sent to West Kalimantan (Kalbar) to guard the Indonesia-Malaysia border.

He explained that the soldiers of Yonif 144/Jaya Yudha will serve for nine months, where their main task at the border is border checking, then joint patrols with the Malaysian army, as well as implementing COVID-19 prevention health protocols.

In addition, TNI soldiers are also tasked with preventing illegal activities on the borders of the two countries such as forest encroachment, human trafficking, smuggling of goods including drug and liquor smuggling.

He hoped that Yonif 144 soldier Jaya Yudha could carry out his duties as directed and could maintain the good name of the unit.

To carry out this task, Task Force Pamtas RI-Malaysia from Yonif 144 / Jaya Yudha said he, has been equipped with various capabilities in addition to border security such as knowledge of agriculture, then the ability to teach so as to help educate the nation's children at the border.
