Prabowo Praises South Korean President To Hold An Efficient APEC Summit

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto appreciated South Korean President Lee Jae Myung as the host of the APEC 2025 Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, for holding the meeting efficiently and on time.

This was conveyed by President Prabowo in a bilateral meeting with President Lee on the sidelines of the 2025 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit (APEC) in Gyeongju, South Korea, Saturday.

"I would like to congratulate you on your leadership at APEC. This event was held very well, very efficiently, and always on time for up to a matter of minutes," said President Prabowo as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, November 1.

In his introductory remarks, President Prabowo praised President Lee's leadership in holding this year's APEC forum because it was considered successful in presenting productive and timely meetings.

President Prabowo also expressed his admiration for the dinner previously held by the host.

According to Prabowo, the presentation of K-Pop music and dance made South Korea able to conquer the world because the art was crazy by young people, including in Indonesia.

"I would like to thank you for the festive dinner last night. The show was very interesting, and I think Korea will conquer the world with your music and dance. All young Indonesians, they are all crazy about K-Pop," said President Prabowo to the warm smile of President Lee.

Meanwhile, President Lee expressed his gratitude and honor for President Prabowo's presence in South Korea. Lee emphasized the importance of dialogue and cooperation in the midst of uncertain global security situations.

"Currently we are living in an unstable security environment. Therefore, I would like to ask you, Mr. President, to convey some of your wisdom to me and the Republic of Korea," said President Lee.

President Lee also praised President Prabowo's leadership in his first year as President of Indonesia.

President Lee added that South Korea is looking forward to President Prabowo's official state visit which was delayed last September.

"I'm sure the Korean people will welcome you wholeheartedly," said President Lee.

Also accompanying President Prabowo in the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
