JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung gave awards to a number of sub-districts that won the Benyamin S Award award. A total of 27 sub-districts proposed by the mayor and regent have been assessed for structuring since last June.
There are four categories contested, namely clean, comfortable, beautiful, and prosperous. The "comfortable" category was won by Slipi Village, the "indah" category was won by Setu Village, and the winner of the "sejahtera" category was won by Glodok Village.
However, not a single kelurahan won the "clean" category in the awarding of the Benyamin S Award this year. Pramono also revealed the reason.
"Earlier, the jury decided that for this year there will be no clean ones. Why isn't there yet? Because there is not yet one sub-district that stands out very well for the level of cleanliness. But for the other three criteria, I think," Pramono said after the awarding of the Benyamin S Award at Central Jakarta, Friday, October 31.
Pramono has no problem with the absence of a kelurahan that won the "clean" category this year. Moreover, according to him, the jury's assessment indicator in that category is quite strict.
"This shows existing fairness, honesty created by the judges. It does not force oneself to be able to have a village that is in the clean criteria, because the clean criteria made by the judges are actually quite high," Pramono explained.

Pramono explained that the Benyamin S Award was held to create a competitive and transparent work culture in the regional-level bureaucracy. Not only for the lurah, but also for the sub-district heads at the next event.
"This is a new milestone for us to conduct an assessment and provide opportunities for the lurah, later the sub-district heads will also conduct an open competition, fairly assessed by the jury where we have no doubt about the background of the experts," Pramono explained.
Pramono assessed that competitions like this were able to foster the spirit of work as well as innovation of regional apparatus, as was the market digitization policy that he previously carried out in 12 traditional markets in Jakarta.
"Why is this being done? I believe that this assessment can make them more enthusiastic, including what I did when giving the digitalization process in the markets yesterday," said Pramono.
In addition to encouraging the performance of regional apparatus, this event is also a form of appreciation for the figure of Benjamin Sueb, a legendary Betawi artist who is known as an inspirational figure in promoting the culture and character of the people of Jakarta.
"The most important thing is that we give our appreciation to Bang Benjamin for his example as a figure, a legend, who has made a tremendous contribution to Jakarta's development," he added.
