TANJUNG CELLOR Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara), Ingkong Ala, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and scholars in accelerating regional development.
The message was conveyed after he was officially confirmed as Chairman of the Regional Management Board (DPW) of the National Dayak Cendekiawan Association (ICDN) of Kaltara for the 2025-2030 period.
Ingkong assessed that scholar organizations have a strategic role as government partners in formulating data-based policies and science, especially in border areas such as Kaltara, which has quite complex development challenges.
"Kaltara requires more roles from scholars not only as thinkers, but also as drivers of social, economic and cultural changes," he said, Wednesday, October 29.
"The provincial government is ready to become ICDN's strategic partner to jointly develop the region," he continued.
He emphasized that development cannot be carried out only with a bureaucratic approach, but must involve community participation and support from intellectual circles.
"We cannot build the region only with administrative programs. There needs to be studies, dialogue, and objective involvement in thinking so that development is truly felt by the community," said the Deputy Governor.
As the new chairman of the ICDN Kaltara, Ingkong is committed to making this organization a forum for cross-professional and ethnic collaboration to strengthen the competitiveness of human resources in Kaltara.
"The big vision of ICDN as Dayak Cendekiawan's Great House for the Republic of Indonesia must be realized in real work. ICDN does not only belong to the Dayak community, but also part of the national spirit for a more advanced Indonesia," he said.
According to him, the existence of Dayak scholars in Kaltara can be a catalyst for the birth of new ideas in the fields of education, creative economy, and sustainable natural resource management.
"We have a lot of potential, but we need to be united with vision and knowledge. That's the task of the scholars," said Inkong.
