JAKARTA - Commemoration of the 97th Youth Pledge Day at the Youth Pledge Museum, Jakarta, Tuesday (28/10), is a place to strengthen the spirit of unity in the midst of challenges of the times. Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, who acted as inspector of the ceremony, delivered an official speech from the Minister of Youth and Sports with the theme Youth of Mobile Youth, United Indonesia.

Ceremony was attended by youth organizations, students, youth representatives from various regions, families of movement leaders, and community leaders. They were present to commemorate the historical moments of 1928, when youths from different backgrounds vowed to one nation, one homeland, and one language.

He stressed that today's youth struggle is mastery of science, maintaining integrity, and fighting poverty, ignorance, and global challenges such as stunting and energy dependence.

According to Fadli, the values of the Youth Pledge remain relevant in the current context. He emphasized the importance of the role of the younger generation in maintaining the integrity of the nation and strengthening national competitiveness. The world is moving fast. But young Indonesians remain strong and brave. They are the strength of this nation," he said.

Fadli also highlighted the role of Indonesian language as a national binding in the midst of the diversity of more than 700 regional languages. Indonesian is a bridge that brings differences together into strength," he said.

Also present at the ceremony of the leadership of the Ministry of Culture, including Deputy Minister Giring Ganesha, Secretary General Bambang Wibawarta, and a number of director generals.

Ahead of a century of Youth Pledge in 2028, Fadli called on the younger generation to continue to maintain the fire of struggle. The values of unity and fighting spirit must live in the hearts of young people. Only by being united can we realize a just and sovereign Indonesia, "he concluded.
