Head Of Tumbang Bahanei Village, Central Kalimantan Becomes Suspect Of Village Fund Corruption, Losses Of IDR 273 Million

The Gunung Mas Resort Police (Polres Gumas) in Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) has named RM (30), an individual Head of Tumbang Bahanei Village, West Rungan District, as a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the use of Village Funds (DD) and Village Fund Allocation (ADD) for the 2023 fiscal year.

"The potential loss to the state is estimated at around Rp273 million," said Gumas Police Chief AKBP Heru Eko Wibowo when contacted from Kuala Kurun, Tuesday, October 28.

He said the modus operandi was to manage a budget that was not in its authority, mark up or price inflate on accountability reports (SPJ), make fictitious SPJ evidence, and use the budget for personal gain.

Members of Unit III of the Corruption Crime Unit of the Dumas Police have delegated phase II, namely the submission of the suspect and evidence to the local district Attorney General's Office (Kejari), Monday (27/10).

The handover process, which began at 07.00 WIB, was led directly by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Dumas Police, who was accompanied by PS Kanit Tipidkor Aiptu Holong Siregar along with personnel.

This delegation was carried out after the case file of suspect RM was declared complete (P-21) by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Gumas, based on letter number B-1764/O.2.22.3/Eoh.1/10/2025 dated 23 October 2025.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Faisal Firman Gani, explained that the submission of the suspect and evidence to the Public Prosecutor's Office was running safely and smoothly. The suspect is declared in good health.

For his actions, RM was charged with Article 2 Paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of the TPK, with a minimum imprisonment of four years and a maximum of 20 years, as well as a minimum fine of Rp. 200 million and a maximum of Rp. 1 billion.

Faisal emphasized that the Gumas Police would not tolerate any form of abuse of authority that would harm the state.

"Mr. Kapolres advised that village funds should be used for the welfare of the community, not for personal interests. The delegation of stage II is proof of the seriousness and professionalism of the Gumas Police in resolving corruption cases to completion," he said.
