Will Unload The Monorel Pole At Rasuna Said If Adhi Karya Doesn't Want To Do It, Pramono: We're Not Well What?

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung invited PT Adhi Karya (Persero) to dismantle the poles of a former stalled monorel project on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, South Jakarta. Because, even though Pramono has planned to demolish it, the monorel pole there is an asset belonging to the BUMN in the infrastructure sector.

The DKI Provincial Government, said Pramono, has also communicated with the management of PT Adhi Karya to resolve the problem of the monorail pole that had stalled about 20 years ago.

"We immediately sent a letter and even discussed it. We invite Adhi Karya to dismantle it. If Adhi Karya can't dismantle it, we will dismantle it," said Pramono at M Bloc Space, South Jakarta, Monday, October 27.

Pramono targets the demolition of the stalled monorel pole at Rasuna Said to be carried out in January 2026. However, if Adhi Karya does not want to dismantle it himself, the DKI Provincial Government will work on it.

"Right, what's not good enough? We'll give you the opportunity first. If we can't, we will dismantle it. If we have dismantled it, we will put it (material pole monorail) later, please take it," said Pramono.

Since several years ago, the pole of the Jakarta monorail project that has stalled along the HR Rasuna Said road and Jalan Asia Afrika has begun to be considered disturbing.

Initially, the construction of this monorail project in Jakarta began in 2004. At that time, the Governor of DKI was still held by Sutiyoso. The DKI Provincial Government is working with PT Jakarta Monorail as the developer or investor of the project.

The failure of the project began after several years of construction. When the monorail pole was held, DKI Governor Fauzi Bowo (who replaced Sutiyoso) stopped this development due to financial problems.

In 2014, former DKI Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama canceled his contract with PT Jakarta Monorail. In the court's decision, the assets of the monorail pole were declared to belong to Adhi Karya, so the state-owned company intended to dismantle them.

"Because the monorail pole belongs to PT Adhi Karya, even though there has been a decision by the District Court and also the government, Jakarta has also received direction from Jamdatun. Then the person who has the right to dismantle it is Adhi Karya. We will write to Adhi Karya for that," said Pramono, some time ago.

However, Pramono did not rule out the opportunity for the DKI Provincial Government to help Adhi Karya to participate in dismantling the stalled monol pole if needed. Because Pramono wants Jalan Rasuna Said to be arranged more neatly after the monorail pole is dismantled.

"The monorail poles were cleaned, the roads were widened, the pedestrian paths were repaired," he said.

Pramono admitted that he would cooperate with the architects' institution to design the arrangement of Jalan Rasuna Said with a touch of beautiful architecture to see.

"I believe Jalan Rasuna Said will become a new place that is not inferior to Sudirman-Thamrin and at the same time overcome the congestion at Rasuna Said so far," he added.
