JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump admitted that he refused to meet Canadian Prime Minister (PM) Mark Carney at the 2025 Asia Pacific economic cooperation forum (KTT APEC) in South Korea (South Korea).
"Canada has long deceived us and they will [can] do it again ... I am reluctant to meet Canadian Prime Minister," Trump told reporters on the US Presidential Aircraft, Air Force One, Monday, October 27, quoted by Reuters.
Trump has just left for Japan after visiting Malaysia. In Tokyo, the Democrat politician is scheduled to meet with the newly elected Emperor Japan and Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi.
Trump's visit to Malaysia and Japan was part of his trip to Asia. Trump in Malaysia oversees the signing of a ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia.
In the near future, Trump is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday on the sidelines of the APEC 2025 summit which will be held in South Korea.
