Two Murder Cases Revealed By The Rejang Lebong Police

JAKARTA - The Rejang Lebong Resort Police (Polres), Bengkulu, revealed two cases of murder at different times and locations.

Head of the Ops Division of the Rejang Lebong Police, AKP George Rudianto, while giving a press statement at the Rejang Lebong Police Headquarters, Friday, said the two suspects in the murder case that his party managed to secure were SA (61), a resident of Central Curup District. One more person is YA (26), a resident of Padang Ulak Tanding District.

AKP George Rudianto explained that the first two murder cases committed by the suspect SA occurred on October 7, 2025, with the victim named Feri Harianto (40), a resident of East Curup District, where the suspect committed the murder and fled immediately and was only caught in Palembang City, South Sumatra, on October 22, 2025.

While the second case is a murder case committed by YA against the victim Muhammad Bambang (46), who is the father continued by the suspect.

This murder case occurred on October 15, 2025 at around 15.00 WIB in Pasar Padang Ulak Tanding Village, Padang Ulak Tanding District. The suspect was arrested on that same day after being secured by residents along with members of the local police.

For the murder case committed by suspect SA against victim Feri Harianto at a partner's house in the Air Meles Atas Village area, Selupu Rejang District, he said, the suspect was carried out because he was not happy to see the victim approaching his husband's daughter, and the victim also had a wife.

"At the time of the incident on October 7, 2025, at around 21.00 WIB, the suspect SA saw the victim (Feri) visiting his son's house with the initials HF, because the suspect did not agree with the relationship with the two of them, resulting in a verbal altercation and the suspect SA stabbed him," he explained.

For his actions, suspect SA was charged with violating Article 338 in conjunction with Article 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code concerning murder with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

Meanwhile, the murder case committed by the suspect YA against his stepfather was offended by the cynical look of the victim, at that time the suspect intended to take a nap on the bed in the middle room. The victim Muhammad Bambang walked back and forth so that the suspect could not sleep so that he was annoyed and angry.

"This case was handled by the PPA Unit of the Rejang Lebong Police Satreskrim. The suspect's murder was carried out using logs that were beaten into the victim's body, both on the hands, waist and head. The victim was taken to the PUT Health Center and then referred to the AR Bunda Hospital, Lubuklinggau City, South Sumatra, but was soon declared dead," he explained.

The suspect SA by the investigators of the Rejang Lebong Police was charged with violating Article 351 paragraph three (3) of the Criminal Code with a penalty of seven years in prison.

So far, the two suspects in the murder case who were detained by the Rejang Lebong Police Satreskrim officers have been detained at the Curup Class IIA Prison and the case is still being filed before being transferred to the Public Prosecutor to undergo trial at the Curup District Court (PN).
