Demonstrations At The US Embassy, Traffic Engineering Are Situational

The Central Jakarta Metro Police stated that traffic engineering (traffic) around the United States Embassy was situational and this was carried out when the mass demonstrations had packed the area.

"There has been no engineering in front of the US Embassy. There are still few people. The traffic flow has stalled," said Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Section (Kasi) Ipda Ruslan Basuki when confirmed in Jakarta, Sunday.

According to him, currently the situation around the US Embassy is still conducive and vehicles can still pass through the area using one lane.

However, Ruslan asked people who would pass around the National Monument (Monas) to find other alternative roads during the activity.

"The flow of traffic is situational to see the escalation of the number of masses in the field," he said.

Central Jakarta Metro Police deployed 869 joint personnel to guard the demonstration from the Hope of Palestine in front of the United States (US) Embassy.

"We want to ensure that activities take place safely, orderly, and do not interfere with other community activities," said Susatyo in Jakarta.

According to him, this Sunday there are a number of elements of society that are members of the Hope of Palestine and others asking for permission to hold demonstrations.

Susatyo explained, to ensure the security as many as 869 joint personnel were deployed to guard the course of the action.
