National Santri Day 1447 H, Prabowo Announces The Purpose Of Establishing The Directorate General Of Islamic Boarding Schools At The Ministry Of Religion

JAKARTA - When congratulating the National Santri Day of 1447 Hijri to the students, kiai, nyai, and the entire extended family of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia, President Prabowo Subianto explained the government's goal of forming the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Islamic Boarding Schools of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.

"I convey that I have approved the proposal to form the Directorate General of Islamic Boarding Schools. This shows the government's strategic priorities to pay more attention, protect, strengthen, and improve the welfare of Islamic boarding schools," President Prabowo said in an official broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat on Friday night, as confirmed in Jakarta, Saturday, October 25.

Reporting from ANTARA, President Prabowo believes that the formation of the Directorate General of Islamic Boarding Schools is a concrete step for the government to strengthen the Islamic boarding school-based religious education ecosystem.

President Prabowo, on the same occasion, also reminded the struggle of the students in the struggle to defend Indonesia's independence, driven by KH Hasyim Asy'ari through the Jihad Resolution on October 22, 1945. The President said that the jihad spirit, which was spread by the students 80 years ago, is still relevant to this day, especially when it comes to the interests of maintaining the integrity of the nation with science and faith.

"We must not forget that the Jihad Resolution on October 22, 1945 or 1367 Hijri which was inflamed by KH Hasyim Asy'ari is an important milestone in the history of the nation a journey towards an independent Indonesia sovereign and dignified," said President Prabowo.

The commemoration of National Santri Day this year has the theme Maintaining an Independent Indonesia, Towards a World Civilization. For President Prabowo, the theme is a reflection of the determination of students to contribute to the progress of the nation.

Therefore, President Prabowo stressed that students must be ready to adapt to global progress without releasing the roots of Islamic and Indonesian values. I believe, today's students are not only national moral guards, but also pioneers of progress who master world science and science, who are moral and competitive," said President Prabowo.

National Santri Day (HSN) is celebrated every year every October 22. The peak of the HSN commemoration this year will be held at TMII Jakarta on Friday night.
