JAKARTA - A member of the Singkawang City DPRD, H Herman alias Aman, has been officially dismissed from his position through the Interim Change (PAW) mechanism after being found guilty by the Singkawang District Court (PN) in a case of sexual violence against minors.

The process of taking the oath of interim replacement oath was held at the Singkawang City DPRD Plenary Meeting in the main room of the council building, Friday (24/10).

"H Herman was replaced by Yuharisa, a member of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) from the Singkawang Selatan electoral district," said Acting Secretary of the Singkawang City DPRD, Hendra when reading the Decree of the Governor of West Kalimantan which determined the dismissal and appointment of members of the interim DPRD as reported by ANTARA.

Based on the Decree of the Governor of West Kalimantan, he determined the dismissal of Herman from the membership of the Singkawang City DPRD and appointed Yuharisa as a replacement for the interim members of the Singkawang City DPRD for the 2024 '2029 term.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Singkawang DPRD, Sujianto, expressed his appreciation and congratulations to the newly appointed DPRD members.

"We congratulate Mrs. Yuharisa. Hopefully she can carry out her duties and functions as a member of the DPRD well and carry out the people's mandate with full responsibility," he said.

He said the inauguration of the interim replacement was an adjustment to the membership composition of the Singkawang DPRD after a permanent legal decision against H Herman.

He emphasized that this step is part of the commitment of the legislature to maintain the integrity and honor of the institution.
