The Majority Of Indonesia Is Forecasted To Rain On Friday, October 24

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the majority weather in Indonesia on Friday, October 24, will still be dominated by light rain and rain accompanied by lightning.

BMKG forecaster Yohanes said in a weather forecast broadcast in Jakarta, Friday, that the Sumatra area would generally experience cloudy conditions to light rain.

"It is predicted that there will be thick clouds for the Padang area, light rain for Banda Aceh, Medan, and Tanjung Pinang, and be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in the Pekanbaru area," Yohanes was quoted as saying by ANTARA.

In the southern part of Sumatra, said Yohanes, thick cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Jambi and Palembang, light rain in Bengkulu and Pangkal Pinang, as well as potential lightning in the Bandar Lampung area.

Turning to Java, light rain is expected to occur in Serang, Jakarta and Surabaya, while moderate rain has the potential to flush the areas of Bandung, Semarang, and Yogyakarta.

"Furthermore, in the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, the weather conditions are expected to be cloudy in Kupang, light rain in Denpasar, and the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in Mataram," said Yohanes.

Turning to Kalimantan Island, BMKG said cloudy weather would occur in Pontianak, light rain in Samarinda, and the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in Tanjung Selor, Palangka Raya, and Banjarmasin.

For the Sulawesi region, BMKG estimates that light rain will include Manado, Gorontalo, Palu, Makassar, and Kendari, while moderate rain has the potential to occur in Mamuju.

The eastern part of Indonesia is predicted to experience light rain in Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayawijaya, and Jayapura, while the rain is likely to occur in Merauke.
