JAKARTA - The administration of US President Donald Trump is reportedly seeking financial, military and diplomatic support from Arab countries for the deployment of international stability guard forces in the Gaza Strip in the coming months.

As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Thursday, October 23, the US also called on Gulf countries to form a "Board of Peace Council" led by Trump, to review the reconstruction and funding of Gaza.

US Vice President JD Vance arrived in Israel on Tuesday, following a visit by the US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

The high-ranking official's visit comes amid efforts to maintain the Gaza ceasefire and discuss the second phase of Trump's peace plan.

The US State Department previously said Foreign Minister Marco Rubio would visit Israel to support the implementation of Gaza's peace plan.

Trump was previously with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi, Emir Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed a declaration of a Gaza ceasefire.

The agreement asks Hamas to release 20 surviving hostages who have been detained in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023. In return, Israel released 1,718 Palestinian prisoners from Gaza and 250 Palestinian prisoners detained in Israeli prisons.

Hamas is now repatriating the bodies of the hostages who died during detention. Under the agreement, the Palestinian side still had to hand over the remaining 28 bodies to Israel.
