JAKARTA - The manager of the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area has prepared the latest regulations for the photography community to maintain the privacy of visitors while distinguishing personal and commercial documentation activities.
"All documentation activities must be based on polite norms and do not interfere with the physical and privacy activities of visitors," said General Director of the Management of the Bung Karno Complex Management Center (PPKGBK) Hadi Sulistia as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 23.
He said the regulations related to the photography community were in the process of being discussed for improvements that adjusted the terms and conditions.
According to him, the regulation is designed considering the increasing number of non-sports activities in the region, including graduation and photography activities in commercial form.
"For non-commercial activities, there is no cost, but it is charged for commercial photography activities. The goal is to prevent the number and area of photographer activities from disrupting visitor activities and privacy," said Hadi.
Hadi said the arrangement remained based on inclusive principles, did not interfere with public activities, respected the privacy and protection of personal data, and supported the creative industry as part of the community's economic contribution.

Regarding the amount of commercial license rates, he said, the value varies, depending on the location and type of activity. Meanwhile, for activities, such as research, comparative studies of educational institutions, or surveys, it is generally free of charge.
Personal documentation activities are allowed using mobile phones, mirrorless cameras, DSLR, or action cameras, including the use of selfie sticks (tongsis), and monopods.
However, activities outside of personal interests, such as commercial shooting, research, media coverage, or the production of music videos and advertisements, must obtain written permission from the GBK manager.
"The flow of written permission depends on the purpose of the documentation, for example for shooting video advertisements or songs, so it is submitted to the head of the unit which will be the location of the shooting," explained Hadi.
