Golkar: Prabowo’s Systemic Reforms Align with 2025 Nobel Economic Theory

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party for Public Policy, Idrus Marham, assessed that the steps taken by President Prabowo Subianto in carrying out the people's mandate showed the direction of systematic structuring and based on the philosophy and ideology of the nation. According to him, the current government policy is not just technical administration, but is part of a fundamental update to the state management system.

"President Prabowo's steps are very clear. He made a comprehensive arrangement based on the values of the philosophy and ideology of the nation's family, gotong royong, nationalism, and social justice," said Idrus in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 22.

Idrus explained that the government's first step is to strengthen the basic value of national development so that it is in line with the four pillars of nationality: Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. After that, the government evaluated and exposed old practices that were considered not to reflect the ideological value of the nation and only benefited a handful of groups.

This step can be seen in the policy of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia under Minister Bahlil Lahadalia. In recent months, Bahlil has accelerated the reform of mining and energy governance by providing greater access to MSMEs, cooperatives, and local communities.

Data from the Indonesian Geological Agency in 2025 shows that the government has updated the Indonesian Mineral and Coal Resources Balance for 29 main commodities, including nickel, copper, gold, and bauxite. The update is a form of transparency and efficiency in the management of national natural resources.

Meanwhile, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that economic growth in the second quarter of 2025 reached 5.12 percent, mostly driven by downstream mining and expanding the role of MSMEs in the energy sector.

Interestingly, the direction of this structural reform policy is in line with the theory of three economists who won the 2025 Nobel Prize at the Economy 'Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion, and Peter Howitt' about sustainable growth through creative destruction' (creative construction).

In a press conference in Stockholm, Philippe Aghion asserted that true economic growth comes from innovations that replace the old system in a more efficient way, supported by fair and inclusive public policy. Peter Howitt added that innovation is not just technology, but changes in ways of thinking, production, and distribution of progress results to all levels of society. Joel Mokyr emphasized the importance of institutions and cultural values that support experiments and sustainable improvements.

Idrus sees the strong resonance of the theory with Prabowo's policy. In economic language they are called creative development, in the political language and ideology of our nation it is the rearrangement of values and structures in order to side with the people. This is not a destructive, but a reconstruction of values," he said.

Idrus emphasized that major changes take time, effective public communication, and real evidence in the field. "Large management cannot be instant. This is not magic, but a process that requires the support and participation of all parties," he said.
