HSN 2025, Cak Imin Promises PKB To Fight For Santri And Islamic Boarding Schools Throughout Indonesia

TAPANULI TENGAH- The Central Board of the National Awakening Party (DPP PKB) reaffirmed its commitment to fighting for the fate of santri and pesantren throughout Indonesia.

This affirmation was conveyed ahead of the peak of the 2025 National Santri Day commemoration (HSN) which will be led directly by the General Chairperson of the PKB DPP, Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin, in Barus, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, on Wednesday (22/10).

Barus was chosen as the location of the peak of the warning because it is believed to be the zero point of the archipelago Islamic civilization or the initial gate for the entry of Islam into Indonesia.

"We want to remind this nation that from Barus it is Islam that first blossomed in the archipelago. From this place, a peaceful, moral, and combined Islamic civilization with a local culture grew into a national power," said PKB DPP chairman Marwan Dasopang alias Mardas in Jakarta, Tuesday (21/10).

According to Mardas, before leading the 2025 HSN grand rally, Cak Imin and the PKB central board were scheduled to make a pilgrimage to the tomb of Sheikh Mahmud, one of the pioneering clerics of Islamic da'wah in Barus, formerly known as Fansur. Sheikh Mahmud is an important figure who is known for his wisdom and spiritual depth.

Furthermore, Mardas explained that the 2025 HSN commemoration is not just ceremonial, but a momentum to emphasize that National Santri Day is the fruit of the long struggle of PKB until it is officially recognized by the state, as a form of respect for the services of the great ulama and students.

"Therefore, PKB will continue to be a big home for pesantren, as well as a place to fight for policies that favor religious education, pesantren economic independence, and the welfare of students," said Mardas.

He also closed with an optimistic message, "We will continue to maintain this mandate. Santri is not only a national moral bastion, but also the pillars of Indonesia's future."
