Husband Who Burned Wife In Jatinegara With DPO Status

The perpetrator with the initials Y (26) who committed domestic violence (KDRT) by burning his wife with the initials CAU (24) in the Otista area, Jatinegara, East Jakarta on Monday, October 13, is now on the wanted list (DPO) in the case of destroying the chicken porridge cart in 2024.

"This is the man Y (26) DPO who burned his wife, we used to look for him, he has been on the DPO since 2024 in the case of destroying the porridge cart," said Head of Women and Children Protection (PPA) of the East Jakarta Metro Police AKP Sri Yatmini.

The incident began when the perpetrator ordered porridge to Udin for Rp. 5,000 in Jatinegara on April 24, 2024. However, he was reluctant to pay after being billed. The victim said he would give the porridge free of charge if the perpetrator asked.

The sentence angered the alleged perpetrator and led to the destruction of Udin's cart with a sharp weapon in the form of a sickle.

Sri said that the wife of the perpetrator (the victim), who now suffered severe burns to her face, had apparently hidden her own husband from being chased by the police in the case of destroying the porridge cart.

"In the past, we also had time to look for it because his wife hid her husband," he said.

He explained that the relationship between the husband and wife had been problematic for a long time. When Y became a fugitive, his wife actually helped the perpetrators hide from the officers.

"He used to be accompanied by his wife, moving around (houses)," said Sri.

However, the situation turned tragic when Y actually vented anger on the woman who used to help him. "The victim was the one who was hiding. Now it's even burned," he said.

The police are currently investigating Y's whereabouts and gathering information from witnesses around the scene.

"The perpetrator is still a DPO. We will continue to pursue and process this case," he asserted.

The CAU victim suffered severe burns to his face and body, so his condition required further media action in the form of plastic surgery.

Now the victim is referred to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) for intensive care.
