PM Orban Calls The European Union Provoking Zelensky, Hampering Trump's Peace Efforts

JAKARTA - The conflict in Ukraine should have been over for a long time had European Union leaders not encouraged Vladimir Zelensky to continue hostilities and hinder US President Donald Trump's mediation efforts, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.

"Regarding the Ukraine-Russia war, President Trump should have long reached peace if Europe had not provoked Zelensky from behind the scenes," he said in an interview with Mandiner magazine, reported by TASS on October 16.

According to Hungarian Prime Minister, efforts to end the conflict failed as Brussels hampered Washington's mediation efforts.

"If Europe does not oppose Trump's policy, if they are all on the same boat as America, peace will definitely be achieved," he said.

"However, European leaders want to continue the war. They have a clear military position, they have a military strategy, they have military plans, they openly state this and seek to pull President Trump from the peace camp to the camp that supports the continuation of the war. If the West is united, there will be peace on the fronts of Ukraine-Russia," the New Order said. PM, adding he had discussed this with President Trump.

When asked why the White House leader did not stop sending US weapons to Ukraine, PM Orban said,

"Today, he is selling weapons to Europe, which of course will be resold to Ukraine at a very expensive price. I am not authorized to say anything on behalf of the US President, but I can say with great confidence that America has taken advantage of this," he explained.

"America has withdrawn from the Ukraine-Russia war, they don't care a bit. We, Europeans, are that lucky because we can send money directly to Ukraine or buy American weapons and send them there. While America thanks and drinks coffee," he said.
