JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Gibran Rakabuming Raka together with Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda reviewed the construction of the Representative Office of the North Maluku Province Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) in Sofifi, Thursday, October 16.

This visit is a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto's directive to strengthen government infrastructure in the regions, especially those that play a strategic role in state financial governance.

On this occasion, Vice President Gibran assessed the existence of the BPKP office in Sofifi as an important center for monitoring and assisting state financial governance in eastern Indonesia.

The vice president also advised that development can be completed on time by taking into account safety and sustainability aspects.

In addition, the Vice President emphasized that the completion of this project is expected to strengthen the function of BPKP in supporting transparency and accountability of development in North Maluku Province.

In line with this, the Head of the North Maluku Building, Infrastructure and Area Planning Center, the Ministry of Public Works, Sahdin Husen, said that the construction of the BPKP office is targeted to be completed in December 2025 and will start functioning in January 2026.

"Hopefully, by functioning and operating the BPKP office in Sofifi, it can improve services and assistance in development processes in North Maluku Province," said Sahdin.

Therefore, with the establishment of a representative BPKP office in Sofifi, he said, it is hoped that the performance of regional development supervision and assistance will be more effective, transparent, and have a direct impact on North Maluku's progress.
