This Russian affirmation dismissed US President Donald Trump's statement accusing the bloc of being designed to weaken the dollar.
Trump on Tuesday described BRICS as an "attack on the dollar" and talked about its threats to charge its members tariffs.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters the BRICS was the grouping of countries united by a common vision of cooperation and welfare.
