The Prosecutor's Office Names 2 Corruption Suspects For The East OKU Indonesian Red Cross Grant Fund

JAKARTA - The District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel), has named two suspects in the alleged corruption case of grant funds at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) local area for the 2018-2023 fiscal year.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the East OKU Prosecutor's Office, Aditya C. Tarigan, said the two suspects, namely DD as the Secretary of the East OKU PMI for the 2018-2023 period and AC as the Head of the Administration Division of the East OKU PMI Headquarters as well as the interim treasurer for the 2021-2022 period.

The determination of the status of suspect DD is carried out based on the Investigation Order Number: Print-01/L.6.21/Fd.2/10/2025 dated March 25, 2025.

Then for the suspect AC based on the Investigation Order Number: Print-02/L.6.21/Fd.2/10/2025 dated October 14, 2025.

"The determination of the suspect was carried out after the investigating team of the East OKU Kejari found strong evidence of misuse of grant funds from the East OKU Regency Government," he said, confiscated by Antara.

Based on the results of an audit from the auditor of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, he said, in this case, it was found that state financial losses amounted to Rp589.58 million.

The two suspects are currently being detained at the Class II B Martapura Penitentiary for the next 20 days to speed up the investigation process.

"This detention was carried out because it was feared that the suspects could run away, repeat their actions, or destroy evidence," he said.

He added that currently his party is still investigating the case because it does not rule out the possibility of adding new suspects.

"Considering that during 2018 to 2023 there was a transition or change of treasurer at PMI OKU Timur. So, for the addition of suspects, we will see the trial process later," he said.
