The National Nutrition Agency Returns Unabsorbed Funds Of IDR 70 Trillion To The State Treasury

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) returned IDR 70 trillion to the government because it was not fully absorbed in the 2025 fiscal year. Of the total allocation of IDR 171 trillion, only IDR 99 trillion was successfully used until the end of the year.

Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, explained that the return steps were taken to maintain accountability in the use of the budget and avoid a buildup of unabsorbed funds.

This year, BGN received a budget allocation of IDR 71 trillion plus a standby fund of IDR 100 trillion. Of this total, IDR 99 trillion was successfully absorbed, while IDR 70 trillion was returned to the President of the Republic of Indonesia because it may not be absorbed this year," Dadan said in an official statement, Tuesday, October 14.

Dadan emphasized that the refund does not mean that the National Nutrition Agency program is experiencing obstacles. The government, he said, continues to provide full support for the implementation of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program which is a national priority.

For the 2026 fiscal year, the government has prepared an allocation of IDR 268 trillion for BGN, accompanied by a reserve fund of IDR 67 trillion. Thus, the total support in the 2026 State Budget reached IDR 335 trillion.

The amount of this allocation reflects the scale of the MBG program which is very wide, targeting up to 82.9 million beneficiaries throughout Indonesia. Every day, we spend around Rp1.2 trillion. For other ministries, that figure may be equivalent to one full budget year, but for us, it's daily needs," said Dadan.

He added that the focus of BGN in the future is to strengthen distribution systems, supervise nutritional quality, and distribute efficiency so that large budget remaining like this year does not occur.
