KPK Spokesperson Claims Not Info On Examination Of Ex-Director Of PT Antam Was Carried Out Last Week

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Budi Prasetyo spoke about the examination of Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo as former President Director of PT Aneka Tambang (Persero), Tbk last week.

His claim was that he did not receive information if a request for information had been made on Tuesday, October 7.

"I'm sorry for the new information," Budi said when confirmed by reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, October 14.

Budi said the examination of the father of the former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo should be carried out today, Tuesday, October 14.

As for last week's examination agenda, Arie's name was not listed in the examination schedule. Likewise in the list of witnesses who were already present at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta at that time.

Arie said Budi was examined faster because there were other activities scheduled. From this examination, there are a number of things that are being investigated related to the cooperation process between PT Antam and PT Loco Montrado which ultimately harms state finances.

"During the examination, investigators studied the process of processing metal anodes between PT Antam and PT Loco Montrado which cost the state more than Rp100 billion," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK has named two people as suspects in the case of corruption in the metal anode processing cooperation between PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) Tbk and PT Loco Montrado. They are Siman Bahar and Dodi Marniki (DM) as General Manager of the PT Antam Processing Unit.

Dodi has now been sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. Meanwhile, Siman Bahar has not been detained due to his health condition.

The status of the suspect Siman Bahar had died after the South Jakarta Court Judge (PN Jaksel) granted the pretrial lawsuit he filed. However, the KPK again named Siman Bahar as a suspect for the second time.
