DPR Hopes Prabowo Attends Peace Summit In Egypt Encourages Progress Of Palestine's Independence

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sukamta hopes that the presence of President Prabowo Subianto at the Gaza Peace Summit in Egypt will bring positive results for Palestinian independence. According to him, Prabowo's presence also had a good impact on Indonesia.

"We appreciate President Prabowo's alertness in fulfilling an impromptu invitation to attend the Gaza Peace Summit in Egypt. Of course this will be a history that Indonesia has an important role in the realization of peace in the Middle East," Sukamta told reporters, Tuesday, October 14.

"We hope that Indonesia will focus on trying to voice and fight for Palestine's independence in full in the forum," he continued.

Sukamta also hopes that during the meeting President Prabowo can emphasize that eternal peace will be realized if Palestine is independent. He reminded that Indonesia, when it was the struggle to seize independence first, had the slogan The Indonesian nation loves peace, but loves independence more'.

Sukamta assessed that this was what continued to encourage the Indonesian people to continue to fight tirelessly to realize independence, even though they had to continue to fight and make diplomatic efforts in international forums.

"We hope that President Prabowo emphasizes the importance of Palestinian independence if we all want true peace to come true," said Sukamta.

"What is the meaning of peace, if as a country, Palestine is not given the power to manage its own country on a sovereign basis," continued the legislator from the DI Yogyakarta electoral district.

In addition, members of the House of Representatives commission in the field of foreign relations also encouraged the United Nations (UN) to be involved in the peace transition process in Gaza. Sukamta said that the United Nations has an obligation as a forum or organization for the association of world countries.

"As an international institution that is a representative of countries around the world, the United Nations must be actively involved, because each member state also has an attitude towards the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The UN is also still considered more neutral and fair," concluded Sukamta.

As is known, President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the Gaza Peace Summit in Egypt, Monday, October 13. The summit, which was attended by representatives from these 27 countries, aims to end the war in the Gaza Strip, enhancing efforts to realize peace and stability in the Middle East and start a new chapter of regional security and stability.

President Prabowo's presence is part of Indonesia's commitment to actively fight for Palestinian independence. It is hoped that the meeting can bring peace in Gaza, Palestine.

According to information, Egyptian President Abdul Fattah as-Sisi with United States President Donald Trump will chair the Summit. The contents of this meeting will discuss the peace of Gaza in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
