MEDAN - As many as 21 employees of the Batang Kuis Public Health Center in Batang Kuis Village/District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, were confirmed to have been exposed to COVID-19.

"Four of them are dentists and general practitioners," said Head of Batang Kuis Public Health Center Aguswan, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, May 18.

He explained that 21 employees who were detected contracting COVID-19 during a mass examination some time ago are now undergoing independent isolation in their respective homes.

"Because all of our staff have no symptoms, even though there are only mild symptoms," he said.

He asked the residents of Batang Kuis and its surrounding areas to be disciplined in applying the 5M health protocol (wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands, staying away from crowds, and limiting mobilization and interaction) to avoid COVID-19.

"Let's keep the health protocol together. It is impossible only from the Health Office (to handle it). So I hope that all people actually apply the health protocols that have been determined by the government," he said.
