Open Operations Around Night Animal Cages, Ragunan Simulates

The Ragunan Wildlife Park Management Unit (UP TMR) has simulated the operation of the tourist destination at night, starting on Saturday 11 October.

"We have carried out a simulation and a thorough study related to the technical implementation of night operations at the Ragunan Zoo," said Head of UP Ragunan Wildlife Park, Endah Rumiyati in a written statement Friday, confiscated by Antara.

Endah explained that starting Saturday 11 October, Ragunan will open the 'Night at the Ragunan Zoo' program, which will be held every Sunday night with operating hours at 18.00' 22.00 WIB.

"For visitors who want to go around seeing nocturnal animals (active at night) there is an e-car service that is rented for IDR 250,000 per hour with a capacity of five people," said Endah.

He added that visitors will be invited to tour several nocturnal animal cages including small mammal cages/areas, tiger cages/areas, terarium cages/areas of hippos.

"At that location, there will be attractions for feeding animals and education by zookeepers with a predetermined schedule," said Endah.

His party has chosen the type of animal that is active at night so that this activity does not interfere with animal welfare.

"We ensure that the animals displayed still feel comfortable and not disturbed by visitor activities," said Endah.

Furthermore, to support night operations, the manager also prepares various supporting infrastructure, such as street lighting, lighting in the animal area, and night picnic areas.

"The lighting system is arranged in such a way as not to interfere with the natural behavior of animals," said Endah.

In addition, security officers and field guides will always be on guard and monitor visitor activities during operating hours.

"For visitors who want to enjoy Ragunan's night atmosphere more comfortably, we provide e-car services for IDR 250 thousand for five people for one hour. With an e-car, visitors can go around while enjoying the beauty of the night at Ragunan Wildlife Park," he said.
