JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through Perumda Pelelola Paljaya is said to have accelerated the completion of the construction of the Central Domestic Waste Management System (SPALD-T) in the Simatupang TB area.
President Director of Paljaya, Untung Suryadi revealed, the work at the manhole-4 (MH-4) point located in front of CIBIS Park has been completed and the road segment can be passed by vehicles smoothly.
"Alhamdulillah, the work in the manhole-4 in front of Cibis has been completed on October 7, 2025. We have dismantled the barrier, and the traffic is back to normal," said Untung in his statement, Wednesday, October 8.
Then, the work at Manhole-7 (MH-7) in front of the TB Simatupang gas station is still ongoing and is targeted to be completed by October 25, 2025.
"The progress in Manhole-7 is going well and the area is not as congested as a manhole-4 so the impact of traffic is relatively lighter," he said.
Meanwhile, the SPALD-T TB Simatupang project will continue until June 2026. Paljaya ensures that all work is carried out by taking into account the safety, smooth running of traffic, and environmental sustainability.
"We express our gratitude for the patience and understanding of the community during the development process. Community support means a lot to the success of the safe sanitation program in Jakarta," he explained.
For the record, the construction of SPALD-T in the Simatupang TB area is carried out to improve the management of domestic wastewater in South Jakarta. According to Untung, the building along the road produces waste water from household activities, offices, and public facilities.
"Since April 2025, we have built an underground waste water pipeline network so that wastewater from households and office buildings can be channeled to Domestic Wastewater Processing Installations (IPALD). That way, wastewater can be processed according to standards before being returned to the environment safely," said Untung.
Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung admitted that he realized that many residents had complained about the excavation projects that included part of the section on Jalan TB Simatupang.
Among them are the pipeline for drinking water Perumda PAM Jaya, the work of the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project (JSDP) or the construction of a wastewater treatment plant carried out by Perumda Paljaya, and the integrated utility network (SJUT) excavation work by the Highways Office.
Therefore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) starting Monday, September 15 opened a lane from Fatmawati Toll Gate for free for four-wheeled vehicles to relieve congestion on TB Simatupang Street.
