Serang Police Disable Two Perpetrators Of Sharp Armed Robbery And Airsoft Gun

SERANG - Serang Resort Police (Polres) paralyzed two specialist motor vehicle thieves (curanmor) with sharp weapons and airsoft guns that often act across provinces. Both had to be shot for resisting officers.

Serang Police Chief, AKBP Condro Sasongko, said suspects S (20) and F (24), were arrested by the Mobile Investigation Team (Resmob) at their hiding place at a driver's mess in Koja, North Jakarta.

He explained that measured decisive action had to be taken because the two suspects who often equipped themselves with machetes tried to fight the officers during development to look for evidence.

"Strict and measured action was taken because both of them tried to fight back and had endangered members during the development process," Condro said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 8.

The arrests of these suspects, continued the Police Chief, were the result of developments in the report on the theft of motorbikes in Tunjung Teja District on September 15. Armed with evidence of clues, the team led by Bripka Sutrisno managed to track and arrest the perpetrators in Jakarta.

From the suspect's hands, officers secured evidence in the form of a machete, an airsoft gun, and a letter T key used to launch the action.

"During the investigation, they admitted that they had acted dozens of times in Serang Regency, Cilegon City, Tangerang Regency, to the jurisdiction of the Polda Metro Jaya," explained the Police Chief.

The modus operandi of the suspects is to break the motorcycle ignition key using a T key. Sharp weapons and airsoft guns are used to threaten if the action is known by the owner of a motorbike or local resident.

"Currently we are still pursuing the collectors of stolen motorbikes whose identities we have pocketed," he said.

For their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Law (KUHP) concerning theft with a maximum prison sentence of five years.
