Compact In Crime, Father-son Involved In Robbery Arrested By Police In Bandung

BANDUNG - Bandung City Police, West Java, arrested five perpetrators of motor vehicle theft with a total of 17 motorcycles.

Head of the Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKBP Abdul Rahman, said that of the five perpetrators arrested, two of them were father and son who acted together.

"His role is that the father supervises his son who becomes a picker. This is our basis for taking action against the theft of motorized vehicles," Abdul said when releasing the case in Bandung, Antara, Tuesday, October 7.

He explained that the disclosure of this case was the result of an investigation from September to early October 2025.

The five suspects each had the initials AL, FA, ES, R, and RMN, while another person with the initials C was still being chased (DPO).

According to Abdul, the perpetrators carried out their actions by breaking the handlebar lock using the T key and taking advantage of the negligence of the vehicle owner who left the key on the motorbike.

Several victims left their keys on their motorbikes. This was used by the perpetrators who immediately took the vehicle away," he said.

In addition to 17 motorcycles, the police also confiscated a number of other evidences in the form of CCTV footage, two fake keys, and one lock.

The suspects were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison, as well as Article 480 of the Criminal Code concerning detention with a threat of four years in prison.
