JAKARTA - Saudi Arabia's foreign minister and Indonesia appreciate the good intentions of the Hamas group regarding the peace plan in the Gaza Strip initiated by US President Donald Trump.

In a joint statement Monday the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar and the Republic of Arab Egypt welcomed the steps taken by Hamas regarding US President Donald Trump's proposal to end the war in Gaza, release all hostages, both alive and dead, and immediately start negotiations on the implementation mechanism.

The Foreign Ministers also welcomed Hamas' announcement of its readiness to hand over Gaza's government to the transitional Palestinian Administrative Committee consisting of independent technocrats.

"They emphasized the need to immediately start negotiations to agree on the mechanism for implementing the proposal, and deal with all aspects," said the statement, quoted from a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Monday, October 6.

Foreign Ministers also welcomed President Trump's call to Israel to immediately stop bombing and start implementing the exchange agreement, and expressed his appreciation for his commitment to building peace in the region.

"This development is a real opportunity to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire, as well as to address the critical humanitarian conditions facing society in the Gaza Strip," they said in the statement.

The Foreign Ministers reaffirmed their joint commitment to support efforts to implement the proposal, seek an immediate halt to the war in Gaza, and reach a comprehensive agreement that guarantees an unlimited delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, no evacuation of the Palestinian people, and no action has been taken that threatens the security and safety of civilians, release of hostages, return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza, unification of Gaza and the West Bank.

"As well as achieving a security mechanism that ensures the security of all parties, in a manner that leads to the full withdrawal of Israel, and the rebuilding of Gaza, as well as creating a path to fair peace based on a two-state solution," the statement said.
