JAKARTA - Accounting for the impact of unilateral policies, residents of Puncak face the convoy of Environment Minister Hanif Faisol, Friday, October 3.

One of the attributes of the protest brought by the demonstrators reads 'Segel Tambang, Not Nature Tourism', describing the protest points of many peak ecotourism locations that were closed by Hanif Faisol. Hanif, who was on his way after attending the tree planting and garbage collection activities in the river, was shouted at by residents.

Carrying banners and dozens of flower stalks, they deliberately confronted the minister in the Simpang Pasir Angin area, Megamendung, which is the minister's track.

"We are employees and workers who are victims of the sealing of the place of business by the Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol," said the coordinator of the demonstration, Asep Suhandi.

The demonstration, said Asep, was carried out spontaneously when he learned of information from social media that the minister would attend a tree planting activity in the Puncak Bogor area.

"Once we get the information that the Minister of Environment and Forestry will come to plant trees, we, the victims of layoffs, agree to convey this aspiration directly. If our voices are not heard, then we will return to the demonstration to Hambalang." he said

According to them, the government can only take action without providing solutions to the affected communities.

"So far, the government has not been present to defend us. We are only making a living. Where is their conscience," he said.

Asep and a number of demonstrators claimed to have taken many actions to care about the environment and obey government regulations.

"We always protect the environment. But our welfare is also considered. Without the existence of a place of business in Puncak, how can we live," he explained.

The delegation of Ministers from the National Mandate Party (PAN) using a white Toyota Alphard vehicle was observed to be closely monitored by the police. Two police cars flanked the vehicle used by Hanif Faisol.

Hanif Faisol also suddenly canceled his presence in an interactive dialogue with Puncak residents. He chose to leave at high speed.
