Babel Police Prepare 850 Personnel To Guard The Demonstration At PT Timah Next Week

PANGKALPINANG - Regional Police (Polda) Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel) prepared as many as 850 joint personnel to oversee the demonstration which will be held at the PT Timah Tbk office in Pangkalpinang.

The Head of the Babel Islands Regional Police, Inspector General Hendro Pandowo, said that the ranks of the Police together with the TNI and elements of Forkopimda would oversee and secure action from the United People's Mining Alliance which is scheduled to take place Monday (6/10).

"We make sure the demonstration runs safely, the concept of security carried out is persuasive and humane, with a smile, greetings, greetings. Departing healthy and safe, going home is also healthy and safe," said Hendro as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 3.

He revealed that as many as 850 joint TNI-Polri personnel and internal security of PT Timah were alerted, but this number would still be adjusted to the size of the mass action present.

Hendro said his party had asked the police chiefs and the commanders of the Kodim in the area to carry out escorts ranging from the point of departure of the masses, the route that was passed, to return to their respective areas.

"We will continue to strive so that the demonstration can run in an orderly, safe, and conducive manner. Hopefully there will be a common ground between PT Timah and the people's mining community who convey their aspirations," he said.

The Babel Police Chief together with his staff also directly inspected the location of PT Timah to ensure the strategic points of security.

During the coordination meeting, members of the Bahar Buasan DPD were also present who provided input regarding the action plan.

"The important thing is not to let there be provocations. Let's work together to keep Bangka Belitung safe, orderly, and conducive," he said.
