JAKARTA - A man who looks religious wearing a robe with his colleague who disguises himself as an online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) is suspected of committing fraud with alms mode on the side of the road.
The second action took place in the Jalan Panjang Raya area, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Sunday, September 28. The victim with the initials MBA (25) lost a number of valuables, ranging from cellphones, laptops, to motorbikes with a total loss of around Rp. 50 million.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kebon Jeruk Police, AKP Double, confirmed the victim's report regarding the incident.
"Our assumption is that the victim was deceived. According to the victim's statement, there was a cellphone, a laptop, and a motorbike. Currently, it is still in the process of being investigated," said Doubles when contacted in Jakarta, Thursday (2/10).
He explained that the victim made a report to the Kebon Jeruk Police on Tuesday, September 30, two days after the incident. The police then immediately conducted an investigation and checked the surveillance camera (CCTV) footage at the scene.
"After conducting a crime scene sweep, we took CCTV evidence for an investigation in finding the culprit," added Dual.

In the chronology uploaded by the victim through his personal social media, the two perpetrators acted by detaining the victim on the road.
The first perpetrator wearing a robe asked the victim to talk at length about life to parents.
The perpetrator then advised the victim to respect his parents and suggested giving alms of Rp. 2,000 as a form of "error relief".
At the same location, there was an ojol driver who turned out to be a colleague of the perpetrator. The victim, who did not realize this, was asked with the ojol to take turns giving alms at a prayer room across the street. When it was the turn of the victim to enter the prayer room, his belongings were entrusted to the ojol driver.
However, when the victim finished giving alms and came back, he found that all his valuables had disappeared by the two perpetrators.
"It turns out that the two of them are collaborative gangs," wrote the victim in his upload.
This fraud case with the roadside alms mode is currently being handled by the Kebon Jeruk Police, while the police are still hunting down the two perpetrators.
