Car Bomb Explosion In Pakistan Kills 10 People

JAKARTA - A total of 10 people were killed and 32 others injured in a bomb explosion on a busy road near the headquarters of the Border Corps (Frontier Corps) in Quetta City, Pakistan.

"Tten people were killed, while 32 others were injured in the explosion. The injured victims have been taken to the Civil Hospital and the Trauma Center," said Balochistan Provincial Health Minister, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, as reported by ANTARA from Sputnik-OANA, Tuesday, September 30.

The explosion occurred when the car turned from Model Town to Jalan Hali, which is near the Quetta Border Corps headquarters, said Quetta Police Special Operations Senior Inspector Muhammad Bloch.

The head of the Provincial Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, condemned the incident, calling it a terrorist attack.

The security forces immediately responded to the situation and succeeded in conquering the four attackers, he said.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari also strongly criticized the suicide bombing in Quetta, which was fitna-e-khawarij, according to a presidential office statement.

"Fitna-e-khawarij" is a term used by Pakistani authorities referring to members of the Tereek-e-Taliban-e-Pakistan Islamist group (which is prohibited in Russia because it is considered terrorism), said Dawn.
