Jakarta Is Predicted To Rain Burst Until The Day After Tomorrow, Pramono Prepares This

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that his staff is preparing to anticipate the impact of flooding in Jakarta in the next two days. This refers to the weather early warning issued by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

"So, we have received a warning from the BMKG regarding the possibility that in the next 1-2 days there will be extreme rainfall. We have prepared, including pumps owned by Jakarta," said Pramono at the Hotel Borobudur, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 30.

Pramono revealed that he would alert 600 mobile and stationary pumps to drain inundation to be channeled to the sea.

However, there is still the potential for Jakarta to be flooded due to heavy rains. Pramono also hopes that the rainfall that falls in the next two days will not exceed the capacity of the drainage channel.

"Hopefully, the rainfall is not above 250 (millimeters). The most important thing is that we have also asked the mayors through their rainbow troops to clean up the ditches," Pramono explained.

For information, BMKG predicts moderate to heavy rain will hit a number of areas in Jabodetabek, including Jakarta from September 30 to October 2, 2025.

On September 30, light rain is predicted to hit Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, South Jakarta and East Jakarta. Then, thunderstorms are predicted to hit West Jakarta and the Thousand Islands.

On October 1, light rain is predicted to occur in almost all areas of Jakarta except the Thousand Islands which has the potential for thunderstorms. Then, on October 2, all areas of Jakarta have the potential to experience thunderstorms.
