PPP X Congress: Mardiono's Kubu Alludes To The Action Of Former Corruption Convicts Behind The Chaos

JAKARTA The United Development Party's X Congress (PPP) which was held in Jakarta was not only colored by political dynamics, but also a riot that led to criminal acts. A number of cadres were injured as a result of beatings and throwing chairs.

Secretary of the PPP DPC Merangin Regency, Jambi, Muchlisin, accused the riot was not a spontaneous incident. According to him, there are parties who deliberately create chaos to thwart the party's democratic process.

"If the side is sure to win (Agus Suparmanto's camp), why do you have to throw chairs? If people believe they won, why make a scene? That's the simplest logic," said Muchlisin when interviewed, Monday (29/9/2025).

He called the brutal action an old scenario played by the 'old players' known to the PPP public.

"This is an old incident that happened again, and people throughout Indonesia Raya understand who played this," he said sarcastically.

Furthermore, Muchlisin also strongly poked at former corruption convicts who often spoke on behalf of PPP in public spaces. He suspects that the failure of PPP in the 2024 General Election cannot be separated from the bad image caused by these people.

"Maybe it's because the former corruptor talks too much in the media, finally the people punish us in the election. Even though we in the regions have worked hard," he said.

Previously, the elected General Chairperson of PPP Muhammad Mardiono, strongly criticized the criminal act that caused a number of cadres to suffer injuries at the X PPP Congress arena, on Saturday (27/9/2025).

In the incident, three cadres from Pandeglang and South Sulawesi were victims of beatings and throwing chairs. Two of them suffered serious injuries, one of which was torn from the lips and hit their teeth, while the other victim suffered a tear in the right temple and cracked in the upper jaw.

"This is a criminal act that injures democracy. We are implementing a constitutional process to strengthen democracy, but there are parties who actually destroy it in anarchic ways. I have asked the police to thoroughly investigate the perpetrators and process them legally," said Mardiono when visiting the victims at the hospital, Saturday night.
