Closing PKS National Conference, President Prabowo Affirms Not To Save Revenge Against Anies Baswedan

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that he did not hold a grudge against Anies Baswedan, his rival in the 2024 presidential election. This was conveyed when closing the National Conference (Munas) VI of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in Jakarta, today.

"I'm just being honest, I don't have a grudge with Anies. If it's given an 11, it's okay, you really know, he actually helped me win, because mothers feel sorry for you," said President Prabowo to laughter and applause from the National Conference participants.

The President said that the 2024 presidential election debate session was natural to be hot, because if it was flat it would not attract public attention.

He emphasized that democracy must be carried out maturely, meaning that after the election is over, there will be no more political opponents because all parties must unite.

"We have to be an adult democracy. Whoever the president is, whoever the vice president is, okay. The important thing is that whoever we unite, we work for the nation and state," said President Prabowo.

In the same speech, the President gave an example that he had never discriminated between political backgrounds when making policies for the people. He said West Sumatra and Aceh still received supplies of fertilizer and government development programs even though Prabowo's votes were not superior in the two provinces.

"We have to grow up, we have to be an adult nation. We want to win, but we have to be ready to lose. If we want to learn to lose, learn from Prabowo Subianto. Five elections, four defeats. PKS follows again," he joked.

According to the President, after the presidential election ends, political contestation does not need to be brought up again. Those who pass, pass, we unite now for the nation and state! he said.

In the event, President Prabowo was accompanied by a number of his ministers, including Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.

PKS is now one of the parties supporting the government after Prabowo was elected President in the 2024 presidential election, although previously he supported the Anies Baswedan 'Muhaimin Iskandar' pair.
