Wild Jukir In Kelapa Gading Hits Motorcyclist Using Iron Pipes Even Though He Has Paid A Tariff Of IDR 5 Thousand

JAKARTA - A thug under the guise of a parking attendant (jukir) Kelapa Gading with the initials RGB (23) was arrested by the North Jakarta Metro Police Opsnal Team after carrying out an extortion that led to the persecution of motorcyclists in the parking area of La Piazza Mall, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Onkoseno Gradiarso Sukahar, said the incident began when the victim and the witness were about to take a parked motorbike.

The victim had paid for parking Rp. 5,000 per motorbike, but the perpetrator asked for an additional Rp. 10 thousand per motorbike. Feeling blackmailed, an argument ensued between the perpetrator and the victim.

"The perpetrator then took the iron pipe from the nearest shop and hit the victim several times, resulting in lacerations to the head and bruises to several parts of the body," he said when confirmed, Sunday, September 28.

The perpetrator was arrested while hiding in Karet Village, Sepatan, Tangerang Regency. The perpetrator was arrested by the Jatanras Opsnal Team of the North Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

"As a result of the investigation, we managed to secure the perpetrators in Karet Village, Sepatan. Currently, the perpetrators and evidence have been handed over to investigators for further legal proceedings," he said.

"The community is asked to be vigilant, and immediately report if they experience or know of similar crimes," he added.

For his actions, RGB was charged with the extortion of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning the Criminal Code as referred to in Article 368 and or 351 of the Criminal Code.
