Cak Imin Ensures Free Nutrition Eating Programs Are Not Stopped Despite Toxic Cases

Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM) Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin ensured that the government had not planned to stop the free nutritious food program (MBG) even though there were many cases of poisoning.

The government will evaluate the MBG program throughout Indonesia so that people feel more secure and feel the benefits of the program.

"There is no plan to stop it. I have not heard of it," said Cak Imin in his statement to reporters, Thursday, September 25.

The General Chairperson of the PKB hopes that this poisoning case will become an evaluation material for the program in the future so that the community will feel more and more guaranteed the benefits of the MBG itself.

"Of course there will be an evaluation to really solve the existing problems so that the community will feel more and more guaranteed benefits," said Cak Imin.

Previously, the Chairman of the Budget Agency (Banggar) of the DPR Said Abdullah explained that his party did not agree if the free nutritious meal (MBG) was stopped following the findings of poisoning cases in various regions. He considered that there must be an in-depth detection from the government.

"The priority program for the president to eat nutritiously free is something good, which we must encourage first. Even though on the way there are those that we read together in various media, the government must immediately detect them," Said said at the parliament complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

Said reminded the importance of early detection of the food served. He highlighted the process and time of cooked food which is one of the factors for poisoning in MBG.

"It's better if we detect it early, where is the problem. Is it because distribution and presentation take a long time. So it takes a new pattern or every school there is one SPPG so that it will be more attractive and easier in terms of supervision," he added.
