West Jakarta Metro Police appealed to motorists not to cross the Pesing flyover following an accident that killed a motorist as a result of being run over by a truck at the location on Tuesday, September 23.

In addition to the accident, the flyover is also included in the category of Non-Toll Flyover (JLNT) which is not intended for two-wheeled vehicles.

The Head of Operations Development Affairs (KBO) of the West Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit, AKP Sudarmo, said the Pesing flyover was narrow, had strong winds, and had claimed many victims due to traffic accidents.

"There are already signs that are clearly installed, motorbikes are prohibited from crossing this route. This appeal is for mutual safety, because the route is prone to accidents and even causes casualties," said Sudarmo, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, September 24.

So far, his party has routinely carried out socialization through banners, banners, and car loudspeakers regarding the prohibition.

"In addition, the police have also carried out a number of safety operations to place the ETLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement) at the location to take action against motorists who are still desperate to pass," said Sudarmo.

Through these efforts, it is hoped that the community will be more disciplined in traffic, obey the rules, and place safety as a top priority in driving.

'Security is the most valuable thing. Let's take care of ourselves, family, and other road users by obeying the existing rules," said Sudarmo.

Previously, a fatal accident occurred on the Pesing flyover, West Jakarta, on Tuesday, September 23, at noon, which resulted in the death of a motorcyclist at the scene.

As a result of this incident, a long traffic jam occurred, causing a number of Transjakarta passengers to get off the bus.

Head of the West Jakarta Metro Police Legal Task Force, AKP Joko Siswanto, explained that the victim who died was named Kasiran (49), riding a motorbike with license plate number R 4571 XD.

The dead victim was run over by a truck coming from the opposite direction after he hit the flyover road divider.

According to Joko, apart from motorbikes and trucks, the fatal accident also involved a private car.

He explained that the victim, who is a resident of Kebumen, Central Java, was driving his motorbike from east to west.

"Arriving near the incline of the flyover, the victim lost control and hit the road divider," Joko explained.

As a result, the motorbike bounced in the opposite direction, while the victim fell and was run over by Hino's truck like it was open.

It did not stop there, the motorbike, which was released from control, also continued to drive and hit the Daihatsu box car with police number B 9970 KCA driven by Arif Setiantoko (36), a resident of South Jakarta.

As a result of the accident, the victim's motorbike was badly damaged, especially on the front and right side.

"Currently, the body of the motorcyclist has been evacuated to the Tangerang Hospital," said Joko.
