Jokowi Silences Critics, Indonesia Condemns Israeli Military Aggression To Palestinians

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo strongly condemns Israel's military aggression into Palestine that has claimed hundreds of lives including children and women.

This was revealed by Jokowi through his official Twitter account, @jokowi on Saturday, May 15, quoted by VOI. "Indonesia strongly condemns the Israeli attacks that have resulted in the loss of the lives of hundreds of people, including women and children. Israeli aggression must be stopped," Jokowi said.

Indonesia did not stay silent with this incident, as jokowi's critics have said all along. Jokowi intensely discussed this with world leaders. Starting from Turkey, Malaysia, Afghanistan to Brunei Darussalam.

"In the last few days, I have spoken with the President of Turkey, the Dipertuan Agong of Malaysia, the PM of Singapore, the President of Afghanistan, the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam and the PM of Malaysia,"

"We are talking about global developments, including the follow-up to the ASEAN Leaders Meeting #ALM, developments in Afghanistan and the very concerning situation in Palestine," Jokowi said.

Israeli warplanes resumed shelling in Gaza, Palestine, saturday morning. The militant group Hamas responded by firing rockets at Israel, as their battle entered its fifth night. Palestinian medics say at least two people have been killed in one of the Israeli airstrikes in Northern Gaza.

Some residents said Israeli Navy ships fired bullets from the Mediterranean Sea, though none hit the Gaza area.

The Palestinian Ministry of Religious Affairs said an Israeli plane attack also destroyed a mosque.
