Minister Of Agriculture Amran Guarantees Smooth Fertilizer, Agriculture Productivity Is Maintained

Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman ensured that the stock of national subsidy fertilizers was in a safe condition so that farmers' needs were met on time and supported Indonesia's food security in a sustainable manner.

"We make sure subsidized fertilizers are available, sufficient, and accessible to farmers. This is important to maintain national productivity while strengthening food security," said the Minister of Agriculture in a statement in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, September 21.

The government ensures that subsidized fertilizer stocks are safe until the end of the year and ensures the needs of farmers for the October 'March' (Okmar) 2025/2026 planting season.

As of September 18, 2025, the realization of subsidized fertilizer distribution has reached 56.45 percent or the equivalent of 5.6 million tons of the total national allocation of 9.5 million tons.

The Minister of Agriculture stated that subsidized fertilizer is a strategic instrument to maintain national food production stability.

With the guaranteed supply of fertilizer and the growing spirit of farmers, Minister Amran is optimistic that rice self-sufficiency can be realized faster than the target.

"God willing, this year our dream of self-sufficiency in rice can be realized. The target that should be achieved in four years, God willing, we can achieve it sooner this year," said the Minister of Agriculture.

As an effort to ensure this, the Ministry of Agriculture strengthens the management of fertilizer distribution by prioritizing the 7T principle, namely on time, on the right track, on the right track, on the right price, on the right type, on the right quality, and on the right side of the recipient.

Director General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities of the Ministry of Agriculture Andi Nur Alam Syah added that the national fertilizer stock had been prepared according to the needs of the planting season. The fertilizer redeeming scheme through ID cards and Farmer Cards also continues to be facilitated.

"The redeeming scheme with ID cards or Farmers Card makes it easier for farmers. In principle, there is no reason why farmers have difficulty getting fertilizer," explained Andi.

Strict supervision involves producers, distributors, kiosks, local governments, and law enforcement officials to prevent distribution irregularities. With better governance and simple redeemation, subsidized fertilizer is expected to be able to boost agricultural productivity as well as support national food self-sufficiency targets.

A number of farmers also feel the benefits. Sunardi, a member of the Farmers Group (Poktan) Mulyo Lestari Bentangan Village, Wonosari District, Klaten Regency, said that the availability of fertilizers in his area went smoothly.

"Especially in our area, the problem of safe fertilizer, is in accordance with the quotas of farmers when they want to redeem it," he said.

Similarly, Hamid from Poktan Sari Padi, Wanasari Village, Surade District, Sukabumi Regency said he was grateful to be able to access subsidized fertilizer easily so that it could increase its agricultural productivity.

"Alhamdulillah, smooth fertilizer for planting in October will be available," said Hamid.
