REJANG LEBONG Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, is collecting data on children dropping out of school spread across 15 sub-districts in the area.
"Currently, the Rejang Lebong Education and Culture Office is collecting data on school-age children who drop out of school. We conducted this data collection after a meeting with the Bengkulu Province Education Quality Guarantee Center (BPMP) recently," said Acting Head of Rejang Lebong Education and Culture, Zakaria Efendi when contacted in Rejang Lebong, Antara, Sunday, September 21.
Zakaria explained that the data collection on school-age children who did not attend school was carried out by Disdikbud officers in collaboration with village heads and village heads in 156 villages/kelurahan spread across 15 sub-districts.
He said the children who dropped out of school would later be put back into schools in the area.
Disdikbud targets that in the next five years there will be no more children in Rejang Lebong Regency who will not attend school.
The program for removing children from school is in line with the vision and mission of the Regent and Deputy Regent of Rejang Lebong in the field of increasing community education.
Zakaria said, this program is also part of an effort to make the program a must-learn program for 13 years, which was previously 9 years old.
The program includes one year PAUD education, six years of elementary school education, three years of junior high school, and three years of high school/vocational school education.
